Property Tax Sc

There is an abandoned property next to my home. I have contacted tax accessors, I want to claim!?

There is an abandoned house and land next to my property. How do I “claim” the property in SC?
No one has lived or maintained the property I’d say in at least 6 or 7 years. I believe it was an older person who possibly died or something and had no family to heir it to… but whatever the case, it is an eyesore and absolutely needs something done to it. I know in SC you can lay claims to abandoned properties, but how do I go about laying the “Claim” to make it my own. The house is unlivable since it has not been maintained in so many years, however the land would be good if I were to maintenance it and maybe then I could put a mobile home or rebuild on it. I have contacted the tax accessors office and the property does not exist in their records. There fore it is considered an “abandoned” property. Anyone know the procedures to claiming an abandoned property? Thanks for your help!

Its “Tax Assessor.”

You have no right to the property.

The People of the State of South Carolina have a taxs lien against the property, as well as local government.

THOSE PEOPLE have a right to the property.

Sometimes, THOSE PEOPLE will seize the property, and sell it to you for the value of the lien. Sometimes not.
