Why does Yahoo! have one of the worst records of any company in China?
For example the group Reporters without Borders has noted that Yahoo! is the worst offender in censoring information for citizens, and is in fact even worse that the local Baidu search engine (see (“Yahoo Worst in China” John Oates http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/06/16/yahoo_china_censor/).
Even more disturbing that censorship is the complicity of Yahoo! With the arrest of journalist Shi Tao. It is reported that Yahoo! gave the Chinese government his IP internet address (see “Yahoo, Chinese Police, and a Jailed Journalist” Robert Marquand The Christian Science Monitor).
This is a serious issue- there is no reason why the basic rights of Chinese citizens should be denied by a company that has the benefit of living in a free country. If you want to do something email customer care Yahoo! mail@cc.yahoo-inc.com and ask them why they do these things and ask them to change their policies

Because China is an oppressive communist country. They sensore everything their people see, they don’t want any individuality or new ideas. China is a country that forces the people to believe what they want them to believe.
