You are on the right track. I am confused about “6yrs of good behavior” because that is not a term from a Court Disposition. See if you can get a copy of your disposition and use the proper terms which will help me determine the best course of action. I have the feeling that you have “time suspended” over your head where upon if you are convicted of a charge within the next six years you will see that time come back and bite you. (IE: The wording is on the paperwork is “XX time suspended for a period of six years.”)

Once you have paid off your fines and have one or two years under your belt, you can petition the court for a change in your sentence. You can write a letter to the court and ask for this, or you can get an attorney and ask for them to do this for you. I recommend that you get an attorney. (You can call one and ask them how much they would charge for this service, some will do it for around $200.) Now the problem is that if you write a letter to the court on your own and the court considers it, they will not let you know when the court date is and thus you will miss out. (You often have to get the information from the court docket itself or by calling up the clerk of the court.) You do not need your original attorney.

Rappahannock Regional Jail is where you will serve your sentence if you are violated. The place is a mess… but it is still strides better than Richmond City Jail.

I have a link below to AA. Contact them, and see if you can get some meetings or at least a sponsor. Recovery from alcoholism is a long hard road. You have to take it upon yourself to start the journey.

I hope that this helps.

Good luck!
