Map Of Lake County Il

Does this satellite map show the effects of a flood?

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=&sll=38.321592,-88.11842&sspn=0.050638,0.113811&ie=UTF8&ll=38.317687,-88.124428&spn=0.050641,0.113811&t=k&z=13&om=1

The area is in southeast Illinois*. I estimate the “flooded” area is about 2000 acres (>3 square miles). I’m not sure if a flood that size is considered large or small. There’s no lake there, but the dark area seems to cut into farmland, roads, etc. I wasn’t able to find any news on recent floods (assuming Google’s image is pretty recent).

* southeast of Albion, IL, in western Edwards County and eastern Wayne County, north of Elm River
correction: southwest of Albion, IL

Yes this image shows damage from flooing or waterlogged soil near the steams in the picture. The images are from 2002 as are most of google’s satellite images.
