If a divorce is filed in Alameda County is it public record immediately or only after it is finalized ?
Also can you file for divorce in any county or only the county you resided in. This is for California
ALL Court files in divorce in Alamedacounty are open to public right away. Same for all California. That is why we know when a movie star/celebrity files foe divorce, because often the media is checking court files. However it may not be so easy to locate a file if you are not aware of the case number and that depends on how the partuclar courts protocol for pulling files.
