Problem with Navy recuiters and Medical DQ?
I went to MEPs today, and I found out that I was DQ from the Navy Reserves because I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I have had the conditon for 4 years, and my GI doctor is getting my medical records. I have been on medication for the last 7 months. Does anyone know what the odds of getting a medical waiver? I received a 90 on the ASVAB.
Irritable bowel syndrome of sufficient severity as to require frequent intervention or interfere with training and other activities is disqualifying for entry. The source below is the medical standard for that condition.
A review of Navy waiver data for the year 2006 does not list abdominal organ or gastrointestinal system conditions as in the top ten categories of waivers considered or granted.
