sheriffs please?
i would like to become a sheriff and i know you have to be a citizen to do so, my citizen application went in during january i’ve been following up on it everything is going good, do i have to wait until i become a citizen or can i apply now

I was a supervisor for the local sheriff’s department and am currently working on backgrounds for the federal government. If you have already filed your citizenship paperwork, absolutely get the application process started. You can safely figure on about 4-6 months total for the background to be completed, in the mean time you will be keeping busy doing the paperwork and gathering employment material needed.
