If you are an attorney or policeman, please answer this legal question?
ok, heres the deal, I ran the tollway last year 20 times for a total of 48 dollars.. I meant to pay them but have been very busy,, so recently they sent me a letter saying there is a hearing, with a judge from the harris county tollroad authority,, this letter was not sent return receipt requested,, so I had a hearing set for april 3,, I didn’t show up for this and now I have another letter from Harris county saying I have 30 days to come up with 1100 dollars or they will boot my car and fine me more,, what are my options here? I don’t see how they come up with 1100 dollars from a 48 dollar fine.. anyway I just want to stay out of jail, I have no criminal records and have never been arrested, I barely have a few speeding tickets.. By the way, the tollroad was paid for long ago and is supposed to be free at this point,, and is owned by a company from Mexico and managed by the harris county toll road authority.
I know I shouldn’t have done this but now that it’s done, what should I do?
there are no options.,you kn ow you were wrong when running thru the toll boothes. in fact you show a very low IQ for doing it 20 times.if you do not pay they will issue a warrant.it will fall under theft of services.
