bringing cell phones to jury duty in ny?

i have jury duty monday morning in westchester county, new york. I do not have a car and will be taking the train in to white plains to jury duty. the summons and the recorded message say no cell phones but i have no place to put my cell phone because i dont have a car or anyone to leave my phone with. and i will need it after i leave in order to get home. what will happen if i bring my phone in? will they take it until i leave. i am perfectly fine with that i just dont want to get in trouble if i bring my cell phone and then cant enter the court house and they say i never showed up.

The instructions on the jury summons said not to bring in your cell phone. If you bring your cell phone to the courthouse, it will be confiscated, at best. At worst, you’ll be held in contempt of court, which will subject you to a jail time or a hefty fine. Leave your cell phone at home.
