Columbia Statistics

In how many ways can you seat 6 persons at a circular dinner table?

Elaborate answer wanted. I’m studying for my first actuarial exam with no instructor. I haven’t taken statistics since my junior year in high school (don’t dumb down your answer…I don’t want to be a douche but I go to Columbia).

When persons are going to take seat around circular dinner, then u must have to take one person as a reference.So that u can count the seat number according to that person and many else.
This one person is fixed while all others can change their seats.So there will be
(6-1)! = 5!
or the positions can be taken place as following ways:
1.5.4.3.2.1 = 5!
where 1 represents ur reference person.
The second person can take seat in 5 ways.
The third person can take seat in 4 ways.
the fouthe in 3 ways, the fifth in 2ways and the 6th in 1 way.
I hope u get the concept.
just use formula (n-1)!.
