Gainsville Jail

Moving out in the state of Texas when 17?

I’ll be starting my Senior year of High school this August and turning 18 in January.
I am with a person who I’ve known for 4 years and dated for 1, Her family might be moving to Gainsville which is close to 100 miles away from me.
Her family is ready to take me in and enroll me into school and get me a job along with transportation to both.
There are no problems at my current home, no abuse or anything along the lines of it.
They don’t like her family and don’t trust her or them at all, they don’t support me dating her either. So them consenting to this would most likely be a “No”
I’m not a bitching teenager because I can’t get what I want, I’m simply trying to find a perfectly legal way for me to go where I want to go if need be it. I really don’t want her mother or dad to go to jail for “Harboring a Runaway”

help?

You be charged as a run-a-way until you turn 18.
However, keep in mind that in Texas in the criminal justice system, you are an adult at 17.
The worst scenario would be that your parents report you as a run-a-way. That is a crime. You will be charged as an adult. It will show up in your criminal background checks for the rest of your life.

Hang in there. You’ll be 18 before you know it.
