Texas Criminal Records Reports

Texas criminal records reports
Why would I have a criminal record through DPS and not the county? (Texas)?

I got a letter from a potential emploer saying that a DPS report said I had a criminal record. I requested a criminal history record from the county and it came back negative. The DPS report used my fingerprints. Why is there a difference and can I get it expunged or sealed so the fingerprint records come up negative too or will they always be there?
There is only one possible county. Thanks.

A county record check is just that, a record check of that county only. A DPS record check, which uses fingerprints, checks the entire state, all counties. Find out which county has the record and hire a lawyer that does business within that county to have the record expunged.
