Filing a Mechanics Lien in Orange County, California?
Is there a specific file needed/used to file a Mechanics Lien at the County Recorders Office in OC? If so, is it available for free online (I could not find it on oc.ca.gov/recorder/)?
Also, is there a local service that completes all of this process for a small fee?
what is the exact process of filing a lien in Orange County. Please expand. I know it is filed with the County Recorders Office, but what exactly is filed? Where and How? Etc.
The only service I know of is that of an attorney. Unless you are talking about a situation involving a substantial amount of money, I wouldn’t bother. In addition to the lien, you’ll have to file a lawsuit to perfect the lien. Everyone says they will file a lien against someones property, but there’s more to the process than most know and there is no guaranteed return.
