for trial do they sentence you that same day?

and is there anyway i can call the court to find out what he got sentenced?

Most misdemeanors result in a plea agreement between the state and the defendant. If there is a trial, it often lasts less than an hour or so. This matter was set for 2:00 pm, meaning the court most likely expected a plea agreement or a very short trial. If it were a long trial or a jury trial it would have been scheduled for 9:00 am.

I would not call the court today. The docket is often very full on court day. That means that nothing will get into to the computer for several hours and the clerks will not appreciate getting a phone call asking what happened just a few minutes after court is over.
