Can felonies be exponged in the state of Maryland? Please Help!!?
SEVERAL FELONIES A COUPLE MOST RECENT. WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS. THEFT…..NOW SHE IS TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND IT’S HARD TO FIND A GOOD JOB BECAUSE OF HER RECORD. SHE NEVER SERVED ANY JAIL TIME BUT SHE IS ON PROBATION. EVERY TIME WE TALK, SHE IS DEPRESSED BECAUSE HER JOB IS NOT PAYING ENOUGH FOR HER TO TAKE CARE OF HER FAMILY. I, MYSELF IS MORE AFRAID THEN SHE IS TO FINALLY END UP IN JAIL. SHE HAS 5 KIDS AND THE MONEY JUST ISN’T ENOUGH. DEAD BEAT DAD IS NOT HELPING SORRY TO SAY. WHAT CAN SHE DO?????PLEASE HELP
I don’t think so. I believe in MI if you don’t commit another felony they get wiped after 7 years, but that’s probably not helpful.
I would recommend counsuling for the depression and maybe find a career counsler and ask them what she can do. Beyond that be honest at job interviews…tell them that you (she) made mistakes, but now shes a mother trying to raise her kids and shes changed. Honesty and sincerity might impress the employer.
