Anne Arundel District Court

Would I get fined for getting a learners permit the day after I get pulled over without a license?

Live in Anne arundel county, Maryland and I got pulled over yesterday 4/20 for not coming to a complete stop. I didn’t have any form of license but I had an state ID. This morning before going to the district court, I went to the mva and got my learners 4/21. My question is as stated in the title…would I get fined or have it revoked after getting pulled over. The cop gave me a citation for not having a license but didn’t arrest me. Please no trolls or a-hole comments. I haven’t been able to talk to an attourney yet because I’m waiting on my court date. Thanks in advance!
Oops…forgot to mention that I’m 20 and there was a licensed driver with me. Only reason I was driving was because they are sick with pnemonia and needed to go to the hospita.

You will probably be stuck with the ticket for driving without a license and running the stop sign/light. The fact that you got your permit the next day is irrelevant. Plus, you didn’t indicate whether there was a licensed driver in the vehicle with you when you were stopped. Even if you had a permit, I do believe in MD that you’re required to have a licensed driver with you.

It is a fairly reasonable assessment that you will be fined for this. The question is then whether your permit is suspended for a period of time, possibly until you turn 18. You will probably want to consult an attorney that handles traffic tickets on this one to make sure you don’t have your privileges suspended.
