Clerk Of Court Okaloosa County

How long does a divorce take in Okaloosa County Florida.?

MY soon to be ex hubby says that the papers are on the judges desk. Now I am in Hawaii going to school and am not there i can’t get ANY infromation from the county clerk or any help from a lawyer. The ex says there won’t be a court date because of the way it is begin done and i have papers that have been CC to me that are addressed to the judge from his lawyer. How long should this take from the time i got those papers the 2nd of this month and how do I know he has sent everything in that needs to be sent in?

I’m not sure what papers you’ve recieved…possibly the divorce papers themselves? If so, you’re to sign and return them. They’ll be filed with the courthouse and then a final divorce decree will be issued. You’re not legally divorced until you receive that final divorce decree.
FL does not have a waiting period, so as soon as the papers are filed, and processed the final divorce decree will be mailed to the both of you. FYI nearly all divorces require court dates, doesn’t matter “what type of divorce” you do…. I’d do a bit more research about that, he may not be telling you the truth.
