concealed handgun permit..Texas?
Im 35 and have been arrested about 15 times since the age of 18. They have all been either stupid misdemeanor public intox or the more serious stuff I was never convicted of. The worst of which was an assault. Never convicted of a felony. Anyway, I have a DWI on my record from 16 years ago but that is the only serious thing that stuck. Do I qualify for a concealed handgun permit in the State of Texas? Thank you.
You qualify for a CWL if your last Class A or B misdemeanor conviction was more than 5 years ago, and you are not a felon. I’ve included a link below for more information.
That said, you’ve been arrested almost once per year, on average, since the age of 18. Before deciding to carry a handgun, you need to take a serious look at the other choices you’re making in your life. Carrying is a huge responsibility, and those of us who do are held to a higher standard of conduct than the general public. Please don’t ruin it for the rest of us.
