Speeding ticket in Forsyth County, NC?
I received a speeding ticket for doing 57 in a school zone (35). This was not intented! I have not had a speeding ticket in over 15yrs. I do not have small children in school, so i do not keep up with the times they let in and out. My mind was on other things and i just accelerated to much. What will happen at the court date?
If you are caught doing 15mph over the speed limit in NC the officer should have taken your license on the spot. If he did not you can appear in front of the Judge (be sure to have your driving record with you proving you haven’t had any tickets in the last 5 years) and ask for a Plea for Judgment. That way you only have to pay Court costs and not the rest of the fine. You can do this once in your life.
I’m still puzzled why the officer did not take your license. The Judge might. I know that is a standing law in NC.
