Can someone become a teacher with a 5 year old public intoxication arrest in texas?
I was 21 years old when it happened and now I am 26 and getting fingerprinted for a background check by the School Board.
I think the answer really depends on your particular school board. It also depends on the facts of your public intoxication charge. For example, was it truly public intoxication or did you plea to a lesser charge for a more serious crime? Questions such as these the school board might ask.
That being said, I think youthful indiscretions are generally understood for the most part. We all were in college at one point. Just be honest.
