Tarrant County Tax Appraisals

How to find 1991 Tax Appraisal Value in TX?

For a legal issue, we are having to document the appraisal value of a house bought in 1991. The mortgage and title companies, as well as the Tarrant County Appraisal District, only actively keep records for 10 years.

I have tried a web search for appraisal archives, but keep coming up empty.

Does anyone know how to find the appraisal value of a house from 1991?

Any help is very much appreciated! We would be willing to pay, even!
The house was sold in 1996 – and the documents of purchase and sale are not in our possession.

We have been able to find the price of the lien, but not the actual appraisal to determine equity. We’ve tried the appraisal/tax assessor, mortgage company, title company – they all say they only have records for the past 10 years, and that all other records are no longer on file.

We’ve tried every resource we could think of – we are hoping there’s some resource we have missed.

That’s BS- I have never heard of the tax man keeping records for ten years. I was acquiring a property a couple months ago, and I wanted to know what they originally paid for it and obviously do my due diligence. Anyway, I had a real estate broker I know and had the info in just under an hour. I’m sure the County Appraisal Office has archives, try the Assessment Office, or Courthouse. If they don’t have don’t pay your taxes- I’m sure they will find it then! HAHA
