Can I get my child support payments adjusted?

I live in arkansas but my child support was set in a missouri court.I drove truck at the time and the amount was set accordingly.I have since lost my cdl.Due to home land security measures.I have no birth records.I am no longer able to make the amount I had before while driving truck.Any one have any ideas?

If your child support has been set in Missouri, then you need to get it amended there or have your file certified over to an Arkansas Court of relevant jurisdiction. Child support can be adjusted for unforeseen changes in circumstances or other valid reasons that are set forth in the state statute. Here is a note of caution. If you lost your job or your CDL voluntarily or engaged in illegal conduct, and remain voluntarily unemployed or underemployed then the Court may be less inclined to reduce your child support. It would be wise for you to talk with a lawyer about this.
