Any info about the old Mill in Henrietta NC?
There is a large home on the hill across the street from what used to be the mill and the Second Broad River runs to the side. I think the house was built early 1900’s and at some point in time was the original store and then the home of a superviser at the mill. There is a sign that says there was also an iron works on the property where the cotton mill was. My records call the mill the BI Cotton Mill. I recently purchased the home and would love to know some of the history.
I’m really sorry that I can’t give you any information about the Old Mill. I just read a book called The Bridge by Doug Marlette that is a historical fiction novel about the textile mills in NC during the 1930’s. Being a NC native it gave me a lot of in-site into the history of NC that I never knew. Good luck with your research, it sounds very interesting!
