My employer found a DUI that is not mine!?
I recently was asked to join a company thats main business is pest control. One of the main parts of the job is driving to each customers house. In order to get this job, i had to pass a drug and criminal background test.
After getting the notice i passed the drug test, they stated that my criminal background check came back with a DUI in 2007. The person has the same name and birth date as me.
My drivers record is clean, no DUI’s, no accidents, no tickets. I asked the employer to let me pull my record from the DPS in order to get info on my person Drivers License. They stated that they would get back to me tomorrow morning to see if that is an option.
Is there anything else i can do to clear my name? Is there any legal action possible? I live in Dallas, Texas, if that helps at all.
I’m not sure about TX, but in OR you can have two different reports ran by the DMV in regards to your license. One is for about $4.00 that shows the basics and the other is more the most businesses want to see if the require DMV info. I have had to do this many times. DMV should be able to fix this if something is wrong, and the company you are applying for should not hold that against you.
